I might be wrong Matt but those rumours seem to have been started by a wind up twitter account. Nothing against Maggsy, hes learning his trade the right way under an experienced coach and he should continue to do just that.

I’d honestly play the kids vs Saints. Get the rest into a mini pre-season camp, and try and iron this crap out of our performances….

Playing the kids would do a lot of harm v Saints. Our kids are too young.

Saints turned up at Toulouse minus a few and with the wrong attitude. I highly doubt they will do that against us. They will love nothing better than rubbing our noses in it well n truly.

Agreed theres a time to ‘throw’ the kids in, and a home game against the best side in the comp when confidence is low is the absolute worst time to do it

We've got a week off after Sts. There's no point throwing kids to be slaughtered. I've seen that before under Douggie and it was no fun for anyone, even the opponents. The only choice is to try to pick the best team we have available.

Then we have two weeks. I'd not worry about the Sts result, and focus on what needs to happen during that break - like Shabino says, a camp might be a good idea. Treat it as a second pre-season. It would be ideal if we could get a new coach in right after the Sts game to give them a chance to rebuild what they can.

I honestly think Maggsy is a student of the game. With this, I think he wants to earn his stripes and learn from Smith. I cannot see him jumping into what is a loose situation at this point of his career.

Danny Mags could be genuine going on past history.Furner was a youngish coach with a limited coaching CV.Powell also, they just seem to want the cut price option,then hamstring them with next to no budget for players.

After watching yet another widdop-williams masterclass I can really see why you'd take the time out to let us know our halves are crap
