It's good to have free to air rugby league which isn't part of the challenge cup but it should be a Friday evening match because you will never get Leeds to play on a Saturday lunch time at home. You will get a bigger crowd on a Friday evening that a Saturday lunchtime. So channel 4 haven't planned this well.

Leeds are playing on Saturday lunch time at home. I would hope the ambition is to sell the game out.

would have liked it to be on fri night as you cant beat the atmosphere, plus it leaves saturday free for doing stuff.
Overall though a great result for the game. Get as many people watching as possible. Shame its only 10 games. would have loved it to be 1 a week but its a good start

Personally, I can't stand sky's coverage of RL, so will be interesting to see who they have as presenters/pundits etc.

This isn’t the end either as I believe they are looking at the same kind of deal with Amazon Prime as well as Our League app.

I pretty sure Clive Tyldesley, one of the chief ITV football commentators, cut his teeth doing the Saturday afternoon matches Granada used to televise in the late eighties. Would be great if we could find another ambitious up and coming talent. Does not have to be steeped in the sport to do the job.

I get why trying to draw big crowds appeals but being honest it's not something the clubs have worked overhard at to complement the poor old Beeb's coverage

I guess the difference here is that the clubs have a lot of notice of this game, unlike cup rounds, and aren't compromised by having to agree ticket prices with the visiting club which is the case with the cup due to the shared gate.
