Thompson will be covering at prop, Walters, O’Connor and Gannon are good prospects but they’re not better options than him, they don’t have his size, strength and physical presence.

If Oledski, Prior, Holroyd, Tetevano and Vuniyayawa were all fit and available for selection I wouldn’t expect Thompson to play. I’m not sure we’ve had a single fixture yet with all of those available.
