Really excited about a Newman/Broadbent future; those boys could both develop into international players.
Martin and Mellor both need to do more but one coming off injury and another COVID; be interesting to see how they go through the season.'"
Agree with all this Jim
Myler looks really good when he pushes up into the line in the opposition's 20 and he certainly knows how to pick a final pass or even get onto the end of any breaks and to score himself, I suppose that is what he was renowned for as a half back playing at his best at the Wolves whilst playing outside of Briers who was the controlling half back.(A bit like he is now whilst playing behind Gale, even though he's playing at full back)
Defensively he was at fault for giving Johnstone 10 metres room on the touchline side (Although T Briscoe was also at fault too) When IMO his job is to only give a speedster like Johnstone 5 metres and to take him out irrespective of if he passes the ball inside to a supporting player.
Martin and Mellor certainly need to offer far more in attack than was evident yesterday from them both especially with Sam Walters chomping at the bit for a role in the 17
I was really impressed with Cam Smith when he came on and he would be in my starting side each week at 13
Broadbent was also very good in attack although he did miss a couple of tackles, although Bill Tupou is a very good centre and has ripped holes on his edge against more seasoned pro's than Jack
