| I’m glad someone mentioned Dixon, personally, I’d have picked Dixon over Powell ever day of the week. And Everyone else has summed Medley up perfectly - another who’d have been great in the modern era when he didn’t have to hide from the tough guys.

| Craig Izzard’s first three things in a Leeds shirt (against Salford?) were to knock on, throw an intercept pass and tackle a Leeds player off an opposition player who then made a break to score. Fortunately he got better from there and is a Leeds legend for the fight with Joe Grima in the Southstand...
Think he’s in the clink now?

| Nice bit of slugger Coleman in the background too. Proper Halfback from that era.

Narrowly missed being imprisoned after being found guilty of corruption involving working for Penrith Council and turning a blind eye to the illegal dumping of asbestos and other waste for which he received payments.
Recently sentenced to 2 and a half years imprisonment to be served by intensive correction in the community. Asbestos victim groups are not very pleased!

| Quote The Ghost of '99="The Ghost of '99"Faimalo, Mann, arguably Eyres yes; Harmon and Howard were good, effective signings.
None of them particularly deserve to be mentioned on this thread though.'"
Howard rocks n diamonds
Eyres was ok but not the player he was at Widnes with the likes of Kurt to look after him.
Faimalo, not bad
Harmon was a shrewd signing
Mann, forget it, shadow of the player he was at saints.
Roy wins all the all the above easily.

| Quote doc-rhino="doc-rhino"where were you on the medley / dixon debate , guessing a dixon fan --also good in the 1990 test , played above his weight but medley had the touchline tries returning kick offs'"
Medley was one of my favourite players as a kid, was a bit gutted when we got rid, but in reflection we got a better all round player in Dixon. Medley had all the ability and talent but lacked the toughness.

| Quote Marty Grrrrrrrrrr!="Marty Grrrrrrrrrr!"Medley was that era for Leeds in a nutshell. Could do some sensational things but had no heart and when things got tough was nowhere to be seen. He would make 3 tackles from marker and then do zilch for an hour. Soft but he could score from 60m and make an impact from bench too. Not exactly a grafter wasnt the lad tho.
Dixon was a much better player than Medley in my opinion but they was totally different players. Dixon had heart and fight. He played mainly at prop while Medley was a wide running 2nd rower and an even wider running defender.'"
