I now watch matches with someone known since 2008 who started watching 1980 also but neither us remembers each other ----- the yorks cup final 1980 there seemed to be a few singing , about 10, one looked like neil hague , his brother like alan smith and 2 like cookson when he had hair (i didn't recognise him in tht with no hair ) the 2 hulls used to fill ss but i was init when kevin dick took a dive to beat hull when hesslewood was centre'"
I was at Fartown for that 1980 Yorkshire cup final, if I remember correctly HKR were unbeaten that season whereas we had barley won a league match, that was the last hurrah for that team with pitchford, Eccles Atkinson etc. John Holmes and Kevin Dick were a great pair in big games. I suppose I looked a bit like Neil Hague back then but all mates had more teeth than Alan Smith, so did my dad so probably not me.
I’d love us to get an away cup draw at barrow or the other 2 in Cumbria.
I did not go often with wally Arnold but seem to recall a guy called Roger who sat near the front and kept giving the driver directions which he clearly did not want, which just meant we kept Encouraging Roger to tell him where to go, I may be getting confused with lufc away travel in early, mid 80’s. A lot of it is quite hazy these days.
