His kicking game is good, and he is the best defensive half back we have. Two good points there.

We need more pace - Mclelland will not give you that - if anything he is slower than Lui

I agree he has shown nothing and I also agree he needs to play alongside Gale for 2 or 3 games before he is written off.
Has Walker ever played HB?
Myler at FB with Gale/Walker in the halves could be a good option.

There’s always excuses for Mclelland not showing us his supposed promise.. he’s had plenty of chances to show us glimpses (full appreciate he’s played in difficult circumstances) but I’m yet to see any. I’ve a gut feeling there’s a good young player in there and Agar needs to get it out of him.. as I said earlier perhaps Long will do that but if not we need to move on

Speaking of Walker im noticing he passing more which is good to see i know he threw an intercepted pass today but that summed up his afternoon. Nothing he tried really came off but at least hes trying.

A top class pacy 6 would help this team big style.

He's not slower than Lui.

Mclelland does look a little over weight.He's got a bit of a belly on him and his face looks podgy.Not sure why this is if hes training every day.He isnt the only one Lui looks a stone over weight.

Perhaps McLelland is more of a Cameron Smith type player than an out an out half - he lacks both pace and awareness for a half. He has other qualities that might be more useful in a different position?

McClelland will be okay once his fitness improves and he gets more game time in a team with an experienced half back and a stronger pack.
I agree, he hasn't shown much in the games he's played, but he's not exactly been given much to work with so far.

All he ever seems to do is kick to touch, don’t remember seeing many proper attacking kicks, which is fine when we are ahead and trying to run the clock down, but when we are chasing the game, completely defeats the object
