He was never going to make it as a half, he doesn't know how to pass.

Did ok at FB but not as good as Walker or even Myler as it turns out.

Did ok at centre but not as good as Hurrell or Newman.

Did ok in the second row but not as good as Martin, Ward, Donaldson etc..

That's basically the story of his career for me.

I've always said I would keep him because of his squad flexibility but wouldn't blame him for trying his luck at a first 13 place elsewhere.

I quite rate him tbh but think his future could lie elsewhere

Yep reporting Ward and Myler signing for Toronto.

When I first heard the rumours I was s bit gutted to especially about Ward, but Ive thought about it since then and I thInk it’s probably for the best.

Ward is a class player but objectively just doesn’t play enough to warrant the Salary he would command and Myler has gone ok but would want to be starting half and I don’t think he’ll get that with us especially if Mclelland kicks on.

What I will say though is if we lose

We are going to need some replacements

C. Smith will replace Ward.
Jai field will fill Mylers shoes.
Greenwood will get signed up.
Holroyd for cuthbo
Crosby still to come back.
Dwyer will re-sign.

It’s far more important we keep the talented youth coming through than players who are either past their best, or have never found their best with us.

We are stacked for back rowers coming through, there’s another good FB or two behind Walker, and if we have to run with a skinny squad depth for a season or two so be it.

One or two really good signings to fill gaps and we’ll be fine. We won’t be the only club having to make some decisions on expenditure.

Money may be tight but i suspect we have 2-3 really good signings lined up.

Let’s hope so. I’m hoping that because we had plenty of cap space pre lockdown that’s put us in a good position to reshape the team in the awful circumstances..
