Nobody has said he was perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Yours is a perfectly good example. Others will rightly point to bad signings. Despite that he has been a major part of the club's success. Now he is building a squad once again capable of winning a hat full of trophies mixing youth and quality signings.

I really do wonder what fans want sometimes. No club should sensibly expect to be on top all of the time. Clubs go through transitions.

What does it say?

Says Leeds have been absent in transfer market, fans are getting restless, no surprise leeds are absent as we have had lots of turnover recently and are now settling down.

I can totally understand what Gotcha is saying however even though people had to beg he did eventually give in to fund the £150k signing of Luke Gale this off season and the previous year 2 marquees was signed off so whilst GH's role and mindset has changed i dont for a second believe Gary doesnt want a Leeds team competing for honours every year. I will always hold GH in high regard for what he has done for Leeds.

In truth both GH and Mr Caddick have done ok with Leeds for a long time with little investment from them. Gary clearly wants the fans to waive the season ticket money refund and i am ok with that personally however nows the time for the owners to put their hand in their pockets to help the club out also. Leneghan put 500k into Wigan last week, Moran and Argylle are clearly funding their clubs plans. Its time for our owners to do the same in my opinion.

It's arguably a moot point but this needs correcting: what Leeds lost when the RU club went bust wasn't cash we'd put into them. It was money they owed for hire of the stadium etc.

Quite. Leeds have splashed huge amounts of cash around in the period since McDermott left.
Bringing Sinfield in, paying Furner to come, paying Furner to go, marquee signings, a whole bunch of transfer fees. People still parroting the old "Leeds don't spend enough" line need to update their material.

I think there is supposed to be a statement shortly about season tickets /memberships For next year. I guess they will be asking existing members to stand missed games this season for some kind of incentive next year. I for one am ok with that and I suspect most members will be but of course everyone has different circumstances. Assuming this is the case then I think Marty is right suggesting GH & PC need to dig deep in their own pockets. I still believe a club that has be as successfully run as Leeds with a raft of wealthy Corporate backers should be able to overcome the current situation. However be realistic and only expect replacements for those players who don’t resign but even the be realistic and don’t expect mega stars on big bucks!!

Be interesting to see what the club offer season tickets, maybe they will want to bring more in now and do some kind of bond type scheme where you pay in/ waive 2020 ticket for a reduced season ticket for next 5 - 10 years.
If we are desperate, Offering Ward and Myler no deal at all and Briscoe/Cuthbertson reduced deals could easily trim £200k plus off next season’s wage bill.

The key is that they keep the current good spirit going which had been lost during a process of exiting many players.
Would also allow holroyd, Walters, Muizz and Mclelland more game time opportunity.

Maybe the time is right to offer various levels of life membership with a finance package.
Pair this with some no cost freebies and discounts on other events.

Leeds have estimated they will lose £4m over this season and next (compared to usually making a profit). How anyone would expect any business, least of all one which has just invested £25m in new facilities, to just grind on as if nothing's happened when two of the five main income streams have been killed stone dead is beyond me. They've lost gameday receipts and they've lost all the hospitality business. They're surviving on Sky money, whatever sponsorship money is still coming in and retail revenue. Leeds will survive, of that there's no doubt, but repaying whatever further loans/RFL-government loans they have to take out will be a challenge if these need paying back by 2025 as reported.
