Quote: D4mo78 "For me it all changed when I had kids. Friday nights didn't fit into my lifestyle and gradually I didn't renew my season ticket and stopped going as much. Luckily my oldest 2 are getting into it and we're going to more games now, but they have to be weekends and there aren't many of them. For me it would be great to get more weekend matches and at more reasonable prices. The 3 of us sat in the south stand and it cost about £70. A far cry from when we got in for free as kids at half time.'"
Exactly the same - young kids make Friday nights very difficult, they’re tired and grumpy as hell come 8pm, never mind 9:30/10pm. It then has a knock on effect into Saturday, coz they’re still tired and therefore inevitably naughty on the Saturday. So, Friday nights are generally a no go, particularly if it’s on Sky - there’s no benefit to actually going to the game in person in our scenario.
We go to more away games than we do home games - the kids love it, but I do miss the routine of being a ST holder, and really wish I could give the kids the same experience I had as a kid of going to Headingley every other week, standing in the same spot, getting to know those who stand around you..... Will just have to wait until the youngest is around 8
