Terrible news .I had a close friend die from MND earlier this year and its a horrible disease. Hope he can pull through

Thanks to fans of other clubs for the touching comments on here and good to see the fund raising has already gone through £100k when gift aid included.

I’m not articulate enough to express my true feelings properly on here but many others have done it for me.

Absolute astonishing response to such a great humble bloke, who didn't seem to have a nasty bone in his body. Not sure if I can bring myself to watch his interview from what others have said, may break me tbh.

Over £100k now, that clip Of the interview is obviously still popping Up on social media and its getting me every time I see it, Rob were all behind you and it’s so heartwarming to see the response

One of those rare players who as a fan of an opposition club made you go "Oh " when you saw he was going to have the ball in a bit of space.

Heartbreaking news to hear about Rob's illness.
Although it's great to see such a fantastic response from not only the Rhinos fans but also from fans around the world with his fund raising page.

As Rhinos fans we have all seen him progress from being a young teenager in the academy to then go on to win plenty of silverware and accolades along the way during his illustrious career.

For me that is why he means so much to all of us as he was simply "One of our own"

and also why he almost feels like a member of each of our own families

It's such a strange thing because most of us don't know these people yet have such a strong emotional connection with them. I guess it's because for me at least they are living out our own dreams.

To see one of your hero's in such a terrible situation yet still coming out fighting epitomises why people like Rob are hero's. Not because they are superhuman but because they are human but in the best of ways.

Leeds United have an individual goal by Eddie Grey when he beat 5 or 6 men Inside the box Leeds RL equivalent score just be Robs try in the 2011 Grand final . I've donated and will do so again after the holiday period and of course I will be attending the game against Bradford. At least go e him a little peace of mind that his children will be looked after .

Eddie Gray’s goal was against Burnley, it was a special goal. Rob has given us so much joy with his exploits on the field, none more so that the GF try against St Helens which is for me the best individual try I’ve ever seen given the significance and importance of the game.

His legacy in the sport is already assured, and I’ve a feeling that is only going I grow with his future exploits. There’s truly only one Rob Burrow.
