Such sad news.
He's my wifes favourite player. On the 2008 World Cup tour we stayed in the same hotel as the players in Townsville and she asked of she could have a picture taken with him. He said "Yes come on, I'm just getting in the ice bath" The ice baths were wheelie bins and she had the photo taken with Rob Burrow in one and Gareth Hock in another with my missus between them.
I've met him a few times since at various England games and he's always took time to have a chat with fans of all clubs.
He's a true credit to himself, his family, Leeds Rhinos and the game in general.
I've just come in from "grandad duty" and my mrs has already donated to his fund, please all of you give something no matter how small.

Very sad news, always enjoyed watching him play even when breaking through underneath the Warrington defence.

Devastating news, wasn’t planning on attending the Bulls game on 12th Jan, but will be there now to show some support for Rob.

Stunned by this news.

As fans we almost see the players (often our heroes) as invincible. Rob has the fight of his life in front of him, and as someone who has first hand experience of life changing illness I’d encourage him to go do all the things he’s always wanted to do, there will be a time when he’s no longer able.

God bless you Robbie, you’ve got a huge RL family in your corner all pulling for you.

This is sad news. I’m a hull fc fan and rob burrow is not only one of the best players I’ve seen but the toughest. I’m sure he will approach this in the same way as he played. Head on full tilt.. I’m not sure if he reads this but if he does he should contact Doddie Wier. He will point him in the right direction. All the best

Nobody deserves this - such a terrible blow for him and his young family - let's hope the condition can be managed in the most appropriate way and that everyone gives him the space, dignity and respect he has earned.

The wife has watched the interview. I'm holding back the tears just reading the forum. I've a photo of him and Brent Webb with my first born. He's 9 now. Am devastated for the family.
