Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?
Fletcher: No, Bradford.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40413.jpg
We've been blessed with some amazingly talented players over the last 40 years I've supported Leeds, including Schoey, Hanley, Harris, McGuire etc. It's also been a privilege to be a fan during Sinfield's entire career, the most dedicated player and best leader we've ever had.
However, John Holmes was something else, such a talented player who could unlock any defence. He played in an era where late hits were an expected part of the game. Every time we played Widnes it was just a matter of time before Tony Myler would hit him off the ball, same with whenever we played Saints with Chris Arkwright at full back (even when both were playing in the A team). Yet for all that it was reported that he never bore grudges and would happily share a pint with the opposition players after the match.
My favourite player of all time and probably always will be.
