| Quote Him="Him"Really? I don’t remember the old days wingers doing anything remotely similar despite the fact half the time players don’t take out the corner flag anyway.
He’s just as good as Offiah or Robinson in my opinion. I don’t quite know what he’d (or any other player) have to do to be as good them if he’s not.'"
Interesting post chaps .Can i throw in Atkinson a great winger and another of your lot that could avoid that corner flag Rosenberg
On a point of Offiah Just remember what teams he played in and the quality of the centres he had inside him
Our star Sully played at most times in a very ordinary team for a lot of his career ,that was how good he was

| People only remember Medley's running, they often forget the crunching tackles he used to put in. Neither Medley nor Powell were nasty enough for that era. It's no coincidence that their best season as a second row pair was when Peter Tunks was in the front row looking after the biff.

| Some good memories of different eras here. Out of interest, when was the last time wwe lost a player to a busted jaw, depressed cheekbone or a fractured eye socket?

| Elderly Hanley, he got all three from Andy Dannatt.
Seriously, other than Delaney I don’t recall any serious facial injuries, and even that wasn’t down to foul play.

| Matt Adamson in CC semi final. Played the final against Bradford a couple of weeks after and if I remember correctly went off injured after possibly being targeted.
Think Sinfield may have had broken nose against Warrington when they were still really dirty and not very good. Seem to remember he refused to shake hands.
Also Hugh Wadell against Widnes in the game I think Powell may have swallowed his tongue in.

It's not much remembered as Leeds kept it to themselves so opposition players didn't target him but Sinfield played through the back end of the 2010 season with a fractured cheekbone and eye socket -
https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/ ... -1-2255035
According to that article Brent Webb also picked up a "similar injury" in the final play off game vs Wigan (great detailed reporting as ever YEP). With all that and McGuire and Peacock already out it's not really a surprise 2010 was the year off from what would otherwise have been six in a row.

There is no nostalgic longing for the return of the high shot, late or otherwise, from me.

I suspect he meant good memories as in "well remembered"

| The game in the late 80s early 90s was much dirtier than now but it had been cleaned up a fair bit from 88-89 when high tackles were properly outlawed with longer suspensions.
I remember we bought Medley and had designs of playing him in the centres. He played on the wing for us on the odd occasion.
Agree that he and Powell would've enjoyed playing now.

Nor from me. Merely reflecting upon a type of injury that has thankfully become far less common.
