| Cas fan here, one who doesn’t want Leeds relegated. I agree it will be disastrous for the game as a whole. Trouble is, using this argument and following it through, the same could be said of Sts, Wigan, Wire, Hull, Cats. But would the bigger picture include Salford, Cas, Wakey, Hudds HKR? I think not.

| I'm a Leeds fan so I obviously don't want us to go down and I'm 90% sure we won't think we'll just win enough games to see out the dreadful season but if I'm being honest and unbias now towards any teams I think with no disrespect intended it would be better for the whole if super league and English rugby if it was one of Wakefield, Huddersfield or Hull KR to go down. Leeds have been a big club for the most of the super league era and are on of the wealthiest clubs with a good academy system so it would be bad for our game if we did go down which I really really hope we don't. With London in Super League it's better it gives our game a capital input and London could be a team on the up if they got a bit more financial support and make rugby a really big hit down there if it was showcased properly there is potential for rugby league in London. Like I said no disrespect to Wakey, Hudds or KR they have positives to give the game but they are less compared to Leeds and London.
Wakey ( small club, old stadium not a big fan base never really competing for major honours. Would Super League miss them not really imo)
Hudds( Ok stadium but is a football ground and is never filled due to small fan base, never really competing for major honours again super league wouldn't really miss them imo even though it was the birthplace of rugby league. )
HKR ( already have a Hull fc in super league who seem to compete for major honours a bit more, KR probably have a strong fan base but not like a Leeds, Saints or Warrington. Hull derby probably would be missed for television but think super league would be fine without KR in super league .
As I said I don't want to disrespect these other teams but imo it would be a better outcome for all apart from the club that is relegated obviously relegation is not good for anyone involved with it but unfortunately that's sports major sports have it and it creates entertainment and money so someone has to suffer it.

| What I am concerned about is a relegation struggle 3 seasons out of 4 and how much longer is it going to go on ? What is the reason for it ? Weve seen no change from last year ,if anything it's worse

| Last year was Mac losing the plot then not replacing him. We then bring in Furner for who the team wouldnt play for then we haven't replaced him with quality. So that's 2 of the years. 2016 I do believe was the effect of Sinfield retiring and the floods to the training ground. Dont forget we were no where near finishing bottom then it was the bottom 5 or 6 or whatever it was..

| It will stop when the powers that be decide to stop putting sticking plasters over gaping wounds and take a bit of responsibility for the enormous botch-job of our vital transition phase leaving us spiraling towards a total disaster.
Recruitment has been disastrous (though recently getting better) instead of investing in quality, we've gone for a constant stream of project or cheap options in crucial, key positions and arguably some that were never the correct pedigree to wear the blue & amber. Others we have just been unfortunate enough to sign just as their form has nosedived or disappeared entirely.
To be fair, even after all that, a decent experienced coach with a fresh outlook, financial backing and the freedom to break up a team that had gone on too long could have seen us through, but lets get real, we have never known success like the last decade and we've done everything possible to string it out, Nobody wanted to be "that" guy who breaks up the band and we have really struggled to balance loyalty on one hand and hard business sense on the other and in hindsight that's the crux of the problem.
No one team has a right to be constantly at the top, constantly getting to finals etc but we'd be very naive to think that we shouldn't at least be able to compete at a basic level with the resources, financial clout and management nous at our disposal. What we need is honesty and leadership, leadership from the very top down.

Gary accepts NO responsibility for the mess since 2015 so all down to Sinny and his coaching this season

What’s stupid and childish and knee jerk wanting someone who is past his sell by date to move on.
It seems by the reactions on here I’m not the only one.
Is this,a forum for debate or just a sounding board for the same old same olds.
Childish

[/iAs a KR fan, you have just disrespected us..Hull FC almost went out of business and previously had pathetic crowds some years ago but were saved by being given Gateshead Thunders licence by the RFL. With a bit of success which could happen our gates could and probably would be bigger than eg. Warrington. We have the capability and then some to be top 5 with a bit if fortune which we have been missing for for a while.....

| This board is free for anyone to make an opinion, without which we'd have a very dull forum and only talk about RL results etc, maybe the odd milkchurn or coffee table.
With an inflammatory thread title as this one you really are going to get polar opposite opinions which are bound to be heated. Just because someone calls you out with their take on it doesnt mean they are getting personal, it means they have just as strong a feeling / opinion as you.
Frankly, im no Hetherington mega fan but sheesh, where would we be without him? He's already handing the running of the business over to others and is deffo on the outer after a long reign so maybe theres an over reaction to him at this current time, yes he has responibilty for some of the issues we are having but be careful what you wish for, youll miss him when hes gone.
