Considering Leeds will probably go with Ferres & Sutcliffe in the 2nd row today I'd be happy to see them sign Dean Martin.

If it's true that'll be the overseas spot vacated by Parcell filled, meaning we're sticking with our current HB options, which is disappointing. If that's the case though the only partnership which gives us a future is Lui/McLelland with Myler out and Sutcliffe covering second row/boot room.

If we wanted a halfback we have to be very careful about signing anyone else. Someone like Martin might help this year but hamstring us in the future unless we're very smart and try to get someone just for this season (i.e. like a loan signing from the NRL). That might not be impossible - like Hastings last year for Salford.

Do you think maybe the Ward situation changed the strategy here?

If it did it would mean the club have know for a while that Ward wasn't going to be back imminently, or they're content that Lui is enough in conjunction with the half's we already have. It must mean fatty Ferres is on his way out though?
