| I've watched the highlights of fridays game on sky and the super league show. The basics are glaringly missing. Tries from near the line where there are three defenders on that man. The worst one was where Watkins just stands and looks and doesn't even get stuck into the tackle. The goal line defence and also defence further up allowing quick breaks has been seen by our opposition. We will continue to be torn apart until the defensive basics are sorted out.
As someone rightly posted on Friday, if Hurrell or Dwyer get injured then lets start looking for some paddles down the creek we are now in. GH's plan for Leeds has ultimately failed and I seriously question some of his signings and way he has managed the club in recent years. As for KS, he would have been our hero had there been a turn around but his lack of experience since leaving as a player and being a coach/manager is showing now. I do question Furners signing as he was not proven and this has come back to haunt us. Maybe there is not communication coming from the club as they simply can't cover or paper up all of the mistakes they have made.

| Just on a new coach turning things around, I'd say in terms of immediacy Maurice Bamford in 1983-84 was more impressive than Murray. We went from a basket case (including record home defeat vs Queensland and sheallackings by Hull and Cas) to going on an 18-game unbeaten run including winning the 1984 John Player Trophy. Mo couldn't sustain it, but he got some players like Ian Wilkinson and the Rayne twins playing the best RL of their careers in a very short period of time.

Bring back big Maurice then. I'd like to see how the new breed of player responds to some "blood and thunder"
Wasn't 83/84 when the team was made up of Aussies?

83/84 was Dean Bell, my good self, Tery Webb, Trevor Clarke and Steve Martin.
84/85 was the mass Aussie fest, a proper mixed bag from Eric Grothe and Tony Currie through to Ricky Lulham. Think it did a bit of damage that season. to Leeds I should add
