Personally, my favourite Lee Smith memory will always be, Leeds v Wigan, 2010 CC quarter final @ Headingley, one of the weirdest games I’ve ever witnessed, and played in awful conditions. Smith had just returned from RU and scored a last min try in a game where all the other points came from penalties. We won 12-10.

He is part of Leeds RL folklore without a doubt , he always had talent and undoubted potential, but I think his career took the right road when Tony Smith made him water carrier for a game . The. He went to the other code and once again not the same player

I remember watching him come through the Academy and he looked a shoe-in for first team right from the start. Very talented all-round player.
Given that your full-back should arguably be your more highly-skilled player (IMHO), Leeds have spent a long time without a real standout. Walker has the potential too if his temperament is right; but in Whitton and Stephens we have other players coming through behind him too, which is a great position to be in. |
