Anyone reckon we'll get Burgess in. Heard a few rumours suggesting he will be joining us this year

I think all the talk is leading to Ikahihifo and Burgess announced next week. It seems that way. But no second Marquee there wouldn’t think.

Would love it to happen but I'll wait until I see it before getting too excited.

It's just nice to be getting linked with some quality names, been a few years since that has happened.

For what it's worth I don't think we will be signing a Burgess any time soon but clearly we are showing some new found ambition.

Things are very quiet, rumours about Ikahihifo and Burgess, but silence from the club itself.

I'm sure the change of coaching will bring improvements in most of last years playing squad, but without 2 or 3 more signings for next season it will still be a long hard slog without much success I think. Hope I'm proved wrong...

It's clear the club has been trying its best to bring in the right quality of player, but there have been lots of dead ends. One point of concern for me is the conditioning of some players: Ferres looked to be struggling with his playing weight last season, and now we have Hurrell and Lolohea who aren't known for being dedicated trainers. I personally don't think there's any excuse for a modern rugby league player to be carrying excess weight. It's your job to be in the best physical condition possible. That squad needs a very professional attitude and application to make gains next season.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Peter Smith is on his 2 weeks holiday currently, so I very much doubt any signings (if any are already over the line), would be announced until he's back. Look how quiet it has been whist he's away - he's the club's only mouthpiece.

I imagine announcements would be better timed once the participants have finished this international series (including Wayne Bennett). I could actually see G Burgess to Leeds to be honest. He seems a good lad and is a top player in a position we badly need filling. Wouldn’t be upset with Ikahihifo either.
