If the head coach isn't in charge of tactics and isn't in charge of picking the team then he's not really the person to carry the can for poor performance. However, that is exactly the setup at present. Unless that changes then I don't think any coach of high repute will want the job. The media stuff is neither here nor there BUT a current high-profile coach, or someone aspiring to be may see that as another big negative. However, GH said he'd review the setup at the end of the season, that might be a bit too late though.

James Lowes is very poor in front of the camera. It could well be that he himself asked not to do that particular role. If we bring in an experienced head coach Sinfield should not be speaking on his behalf, nor should he be involved in team selection, coaching etc. He has no proven ability on such matters and all it will do is undermine the coach. It could also be a reason for a potential head coach to turn us down.

No decent coach would want Sinfield or anyone else speaking for them - its part of the job.

Would be underwhelmed unfortunately. Want someone who is proven in discipline and developing youngsters.

I was told last week that had offered Furner the job but he seemed to be wanting a higher wage to come over.

Furner knows the club is a very reliable steady guy but if I'm honest I wouldn't want another forward as coach. Just my opinion though.

Ive no problem with Furner tbh but i would hope he has at least a good ex HB/Back on his staff who is capable of instilling some new attacking ideas/structures

Furner was never just another forward, always a good footballer.
