Could be difficult to get anyone to agree to the job as it is, essentially Sinfield’s scapegoat!

Also I would have thought the fact the Sinfield would do all the press and things like that could be appealing to a coach? Not many of them seem to like this aspect of the job

Sinfield is as near a household name as a RL player will get and the club know this .When the new coach is appointed Sinfield will resume his role of Director of Rugby with responsibility for recruitment and player retention and speaking to the Media . I personally think once the ship has been steadied I.E the development etc He will be the next CEO as GH retires as club president

This is exactly what will happen. I don’t think for a minute that GH actually expected BMD not to see the season out. My understanding is that GH made the decision to bring Kev in to replace him as he retires over the next 12-18 months, and Brian didn’t want to work under Kev, so issued a back me or sack me. We know the rest.

Why? Lowes is head coach now isn’t he, as I say coaches tend not to be great in France nt of the camera so letting Sinfield do it may be a selling point.

If the head coach isn't in charge of tactics and isn't in charge of picking the team then he's not really the person to carry the can for poor performance. However, that is exactly the setup at present. Unless that changes then I don't think any coach of high repute will want the job. The media stuff is neither here nor there BUT a current high-profile coach, or someone aspiring to be may see that as another big negative. However, GH said he'd review the setup at the end of the season, that might be a bit too late though.

James Lowes is very poor in front of the camera. It could well be that he himself asked not to do that particular role. If we bring in an experienced head coach Sinfield should not be speaking on his behalf, nor should he be involved in team selection, coaching etc. He has no proven ability on such matters and all it will do is undermine the coach. It could also be a reason for a potential head coach to turn us down.
