| The fitness issue is very odd. Is it partly a function of too many older players around? If the older players hang on they might be in for a shock if we bring in an Aussie who expects much better fitness.
As for the way we play, I suspect any new coach will instill structure first and foremost. They'll have style they want to see played and then fit it with the players available. Just because we've been a bit off the cuff doesn't mean thats the best moving forward.

Sentimental Sinny, perhaps he hasn't got the balls to get rid of his mates.

| It's down to cost, it's probably cheaper to give the three oldies a one year deal on a reduced contract than go out and sign up the failures from the likes of Leigh and Widnes, the teams who are relegated usually move from the bottom club to the promoted club, hence they get relegated again. At least you know what you get by giving the three of them a new one year contract. Plus it also gives the young guys coming through an extra year to gain more experience and game time. Some players do need to be moved on, the late signings Crosby and Roberts don't look good long term and should be shipped out quickly. The interesting point is the sale of the season tickets, I have heard nothing yet other than a mid season meeting regarding renewing the corporate tickets, no doubt the pressure will soon start in asking them to be renewed. They are desperate for the corporate tickets to be sold, but having the season from hell I am certain having asked for £2500 plus vat per ticket mid season then this price should now be greatly reduced, if not the corporate suites will be empty. As Sinfield said to me supporters will always support the Rhinos and candidly he is right , so this year I am likely to buy a block of 6 tickets and go for a meal beforehand with my clients at the West End pub and then get a taxi to the ground. After all I am a Yorkshire man and I like getting value for my money, unfortunately this year that value has been zero and the only thing GH has been interested in this year is money and how much can he raise this year through ticket sales. GH if you want to fill the new stadium then spend money on the team with quality players, get rid of the average players and the old players who won't get any better, just give us a team who we can be proud off as opposed to trying to do it on the cheap.

| Reading between the lines I think Sinfield is trying to move on some that are long term contracts (possibly including players who have signed again and not been publicised), however this could prove difficult/impossible.
He has made some cryptic references to things not being right and even referred to it not being acceptable to have half the salary cap in the stands. That is an odd comment if players have genuine injuries and are being diligent in their recovery.
There is potential to free up a lot of salary cap now if the 3 vintage back rowers, Walters and mullally have not been signed up again. I suspect GH may have left Sinfield with less room to manoeuvre than we think. He sounded a lot more circumspect about new signings in the post game interview on Friday.
Interesting few weeks ahead, I hope.
