Quote BrisbaneRhino="BrisbaneRhino"No. Some of the supposed issues with BM are exactly the same - refusal to delegate, to the point of paranoia about the relationship between assistant coach and players, attempting to do everything himself etc. The fact he's been dumped 4 games from finals with the Panthers well placed speaks volumes for how much of an issue he has become. The view is that the team goes out playing to his gameplan, goes well behind and then starts to play their own way, turning deficits over.
The Sinfield/Lowes partnership has delivered nothing so far. Thats hard on them but when you get a new coach you generally see some kind of positive response from the team at least in the shirt term - we're 1 win from 5 since they took over.'"
Don't believe everything you read from the Phil Could spin machine. The rumours have been there all year that Gus has been interfering in coaching and Griffin has been standing his ground so they've clashed - Gould is the General Manager and he has won the power battle.
Griffin has just given an outstanding and open interview on NRL360 where he gave a full breakdown of what happened.
Griffin set up the current junior develop systems at both Brisbane and Penrith- they both always had great junior numbers and teams, but weren't transitioning the juniors into NRL players. Both teams are now stacked out with superstars that have been developed internally - I think Griffin would be a fantastic appointment, who would really help Sinfield develop in his role and get this club back to producing top line talent through the junior systems. Both Penrith and Brisbane rely heavily on the juniors they produce, supplemented by a few high quality imports, that's exactly how we've been so successful.
I'd be going all out for Griffin.
