| It did come across as a dummy spit, I'll give you that. The Featherstone statement was much better as it gave context to why they feel the way they do.

| So, the RFL confirm nothing has been agreed at the moment. What a farce this is.

The RFL announced what Hetherington has asked them to announce. Doubt it will make a difference to where we end up though.
Perhaps a compromise might well be staying with the middle 8's and stopping the rest? who knows. But what is suggested so far looks a definite improvement on the farce we currently have. And consider that all the other super league clubs but Hetherington (and I doubt his view is of the whole club), have agreed on this course.

| This shows what happens when you lose your power base. Nigel Wood was GH's puppet who was able to deliver what GH wanted. These days big Nige has passed to food hall long long way a way so GH's needs his man back at the top. I expect Ralf Rimmer GH's man to get the top job.
Unfortunately he has been out manoeuvred by cleverer, richer men in Lenegan,McManus and Moran - I don't see them being brought back into line by GH no matter what he does. Interesting times - these clubs know they need the money to grow the game. Look what is happening at Whitehaven were has the money gone the Sky deal put into them.

| These clubs need all the money for themselves whereas Leeds can afford to be concerned about the rest of the sport. They may be richer than Hetherington (but not Leeds' owner) but they certainly aren't in the same league as Rugby League administrators as the financial performance of their clubs proves, Lenagan and McManus in particular.

Dead right. Lenagan seems to be the driving force behind this breakaway. Of the three, his club is - by far - the weakest financially. Is it right that the game should be led in a way aimed to mitigate the sale of Wigan's ground all those years ago?
Grow the game? Don't make me laugh.

I would say what McManus is achieving in terms of the busines side, will equal that of GH in the long run. You can't tar them all with the same brush because of Wigan. McManus seems far more astute than others.

| That statement from Fev is absolutely bang on. Well considered and delivered.
Although I don't agree with the way GH has played this, I believe he is on the right side of it, in my opinion.

He is far from the right side of it. I can not understand how you have come to that conclusion? The others may well end up been wrong in how they have gone about it, but in the end it would appear are unified in changing something that simply does not work. The fact it does not work, in its self tells you that GH is not on the right side of it, if he continues to take that stance.
In any sport, the drivers of that sport are the the people at the top. Therefore that element of the game should always be the priority to deliver the sports future. From that the rest share from it.

| I read the statement to suggest that the way the announcement has been made is in question, along with the assertion/intimation that it is a done deal is entirely wrong as it involves a much wider pool of people than just the Super League clubs.
He seems to be challenging this and suggesting that the need is for a wider consultation, as, it seems, was already happening....all be it slowly.
