| Quote ThePrinter="ThePrinter"Yes it was definitely a careless attempt by JJB and going by others this season he should get a ban. Getting sin binned for it is the interesting point, I don't mind a tackle like that getting you 10 mins but you just know we're going to see the exact same thing go unpunished in other games.'"
Consistency from the refs is not there at all. Like you say, i wouldn't mind if they dished out straight reds for things like that and canonball hits etc... and i reckon you would quickly see it stop after a few. Someone else also mentioned the ruck being poiliced in a terrible manner in general which is spoiling the game, it really does need addressing in a big way.

Player is injured so it is a sin bin, if the player gets up then it isn't even thought twice about

| Quote Juan Cornetto="Juan Cornetto"=#FF0000I think Leeds deserve the credit for not allowing the Leigh forwards from building momentum by getting into them quickly with gang tackles and a quick defensive line led by JJB, Ferres, Cuthbertson, Singleton and Ward. It was this dominating defence than caused frustrations for Leigh and led to much of the ill discipline. Moon was dangerous on attack and Keinhorst showed once more what a quality rugby player he is and Ferres was a constant thorn in their side all night.
However IMO the need for a quality organiser at half back is paramount and will transform our prospects for next year.'"
As a Leyther, that's pretty much how I saw it 'Juan'. We were totally dominated by a determined, quick, skillful team, on the night. As for our performance, well, there's a saying that "you play as well as you are allowed to play." And we were never allowed to play. That frustration probably led to our indiscipline - something that appeared to have been eradicated, over several long weeks of the season.
Well done, on the night.

Run past me how tangling legs around those of a standing player differs greatly to doing so with the arms. Had JJB used his arms instead of his legs the outcome would probably have been similar but the outcry would be lacking. IMO, of course.

I have no idea if he did, i thought he was out for the knee injury he suffered during the play offs end of last year. If he did, that explains it.

Watch it back mate, Worthington is locked by two tacklers and Stationery, JJB is round the back and wraps a leg round then his other whilst leaving the ground jumping down and buckling worthingtons legs under with all his body weight. Looked bad and wasn't needed to be honest.
like i said, i'm sure it wasn't intended to injure the player, but no need for it.

Unfortunately it's another "technique" that needs banning quickly.
I haven't seen it again but from what I saw at the time and how others have described it it sounds like a scissors tackle in football but with the addition of dragging the man to the ground.
We have no need for this in the sport, all this does is increase the likelihood of injuries.
IIRC Danny Brough did a couple of reckless examples of this against us in the game last season that very much risked injury.

| in fairness to JJB, it looked like Worthington was turned by the other players in the tackle rather than himself and i think thats what caused the problem. It didnt seem particularly bad or out of the ordinary in and of itself, but became so as Worthington was moved around and twisted by the others.
Its a weird one because its obviously not needed and it would be better without those types of tackle in the game, but its also a very fine and complex line with a lot of grey areas to judge it on so i dont know how you legislate against it because id bet a pound to a penny that if Worthington gets up, game goes on and nobody even remembers that tackle

| As fans we see things with bias, for example I saw Leeds control the ref very well both on and off the pitch, that wouldn't have happened at LSV. I am sure Leeds fans think differently but it was interesting to see Silverwood basically say the same via Twitter
Love going to Leeds, despite the shocking traffic from off the motorway and the crazy traffic lights letting only a few cars through, must find a better route next year. 15000 on a Thursday for a second tier game was brilliant and no issues anywhere, great fans and look forward to a closer encounter next year.
