Quote: tvoc "Golding is enthusiastic and he made a good one on one tackle in the second half on Solomona. His positioning is quite poor for a full-back though as Dorn and Wells pointed out after the game for the second Dorn try and that happens often. Another example was the Ormsby try at Huddersfield two weeks ago, when he stood static wide left behind four Leeds goal line defenders instead of taking a more central position. Jones-Buchanan does his usual charge up in his one man defensive line and Golding enthusiastically gets over but too late. He does a lot of getting places just too late.
Not wanting to bag anyone specifically for last night they were all (Galloway apart) terrible for Leeds.'"
He is young and learning his trade but all evening he was having to cover across from wing to wing and had to cover the attack just before the excellent Gale kick on the 4th tackle so you could not say his positioning was poor. He did some really good work and showed great maturity one one occasion in particular where he tracked back not committing too early to the tackle looking back over each shoulder having to change direction several time as the attacker tried to wrong foot him which allowed teammates back to help make the tackle. Hardaker has hardly been a good role model for positional play this season either.
With regard to JJB if his team mates put in as high a work rate as he did then we would not have conceded so many points. JJB was top tackler again with 45 tackles top market tackler (11) and 103 metres (best m per c) with no errors no penalties so although there were big holes on our right flank he was doing his share of tackling so no wonder he missed a few.
