| I'm not happy with him, that would be stretching it too far, reluctantly satisfied would be better. However, for all his faults, he knew what needed to happen this year, he specifically requested it from the club, but his boss had other ideas. I am not going to blame McDermott for been shown correct currently. However, I still strongly believe it was specific players that brought our success, regardless of coach.

| Most successful coach in the club's history yet still divides opinion. Not too sure if that's a reflection of the man or the fans.

| Pretty happy with the coach.Thats not to say some fresh input/ideas from outside the bubble wouldnt go amiss.Afterall BM seems to have a formula for success,we would not like a scenario such as Ferguson/Van Gall where it all goes pear shaped. If a change of coach is on the cards whos availabl?Shaun Wane, no thanks season ticket holders would leave in droves, in fact I cannot see anyone over here that would continue the trophy haul.Cannot see Powell comming back and everybodys lauding Betts as a great coa h after 6 games forgetting hes been gash for the last 3 years. Better the devil you know.Like Bradford in 2005 Leeds just need a fit squad and then results will look after themselves.Putting my rose tinted specticals on I suspect in 50 years BM will be talked about in the same way as Roy Francis is today.

The fans. A lot of people that formed their opinion in the first season and are now too embarrassed to admit they were wrong.

| Very happy with the coach if I'm honest. We've won a lot, alongside GH he seems to got his recruitment mostly right recently, he seems to have done everything he could to try and make the transition easier.
Despite what people say we have also seen many young players come through and/or become fixtures of the first team.
Even taking all that aside I think he's honest and down to earth, with a passion not just for this club, but for the sport and doing things right within it. I'd much rather have him than say Wane or Cunningham, even Powell.
Funnily enough Powell doesn't seem to get any stick for not blooding youngsters, despite the fact I'm struggling to think of a single young player who has become a regular during his tenure.

| His record is second to none - he was helped by having a group of players that were also second to none.
In the big games he has come up with a plan that worked - that should be recognised.
Too much emphasis on warrior attitude and not enough emphasis on skills development for me - many of our players haven't developed even the basic skills - the missed tackle count on Friday is one example.
His substitution thought process is bizarre to say the least.

| I like the warrior attitude to be fair, I think it has a place. I think your being a bit harsh on the skill development as well, for example we have a far skillful stable of props than when Mac arrived. The only player I'm disappointed with in terms of development is Ward, who as still developed but it seems in a completely different way to was expected.
Subs I'll admit is baffling at times, hopefully the injury spell has got a few more people on Macs trust list and it won't be as much of an issue. And who knows it might stand us in good stead when we drop the number of interchanges like the NRL.

| I am happy most of the time with him, would not have Powell back, whinger. An unless like there said someone like Trent Robinson pops up can't see the point of changing coach.
On Betts think he is a good coach but lacks resources of other clubs, built a good side over a number of years, their success this season been built over last two or 3 years.

I was one of his biggest critics in his first season but have eaten so much humble pie in subsequent years.
Mac deserves time and our patience to steer the ship back on course.
A season of transition and evolution is how this season should be viewed, retaining the CC and pushing for the top 4 come the Super 8s will be adequate for me.
Big thumbs up for me, who would be better at planning the soon to come exits of Burrow, Mags and JJB?

| McDermott is actually just living off the good work that Bluey did in teaching the team to raise and perform for the big games, however bluey was just living off the good work that Smith did in nurturing young players to become top quality players, however smith was just living off the good work that powell did in putting the young spine together and ridding the dead weight, however powell was just living off the good work that dean lance did in exposing an ageing team that needs rebuilding, however lance was just living off the good work that Murray did .... you can trace McDermotts success back to the 60's.
