Ryan Hall is not the only one in the squad who appear never to have learned how to tackle properly, and his attempt, for a guy whose reputation is built on upper body strength was p1sspotical. The OP raises a very valid point. Was he a better try scoring winger a couple of seasons ago, than he is now? Maybe, but I'd certainly have him in the team, whilst not World class, he is certainly talented enough to be an automatic choice for Our Leader.
Ryan Hall has saved us plenty of tries in the past and bitchslapped plenty of big players himself - plenty of NRL players at that - he was out by a fraction on this occasion and that handed Feldt the initiative, slightly different starting stance or arm positioning and Feldt gets bundled in to touch. That's the game.
As for William, he can't bare the idea of anyone in SL being any good so there's little point in listening to his lopsided nonsense.
Les Dyl was pretty ordinary at the back end of his career. He was one of the 70s generation that simply didn't adapt to changes that were happening in the game. I say generation because he wasn't the only one who went from being a staple of rep teams to retired quickly.
