Quote: Phil Clarke "A heavy defeat to NQC on Sunday could pile the pressure upon the squad and at a time when they could do with a good winning run to bed in your young half backs.
You have a tricky away fixture in France next weekend,I reckon 2 defeats from these 2 fixtures and you'll be after Brian McDermott's head'"
Thing is, Leeds having an underwhelming season would be understandable after last years success. If the likes of Wigan and Warrington mess up this chance to claim a few bits of silverware after the last couple of trophyless seasons....that would be dodgy.
In a way the pressure is on our opponents to make sure we don't the GF this year. The opposition have been waiting for a few years now for Sinfield and Peacock to retire and the stranglehold on Old Tradford to die with their departure......if we do find a way to win the GF this year then a lot of worried heads at opposition teams will follow as they were desperate for our success to depart with those legends......quite honestly, the opposition dare not allow Leeds to win the GF the first season post Sinfield otherwise alarm bells ring to whether he and Peacock successfully passed on the winning habit and it becomes a 2nd Golden decade.
