I wonder if, for example, Leeds have agreed with Souths that Sam will play for Leeds for 1 year and we will pay a transfer fee for him, but will be reimbursed that same fee when he moves to Souths....

Their's no doubt he'll end up back in Aus eventually. The question mark would be is it too late for Souths to accommodate him into their 2016 squad.

Leaves a potential 1 year in SL on the table. I'm sure he wouldn't mind having a crack at adding a GF and CC to his NRL GF. Also a chance to play in a WCC after leaving Souths before their WCC....although he got to sit next to Samuel L Jackson at the game.

As for RU. After the way they rushed him into the WC squad I think it's obvious England RU were behind the deal regardless of what the official word from Bath was. Heads are soon to roll for the early exit and Burgess' supporters on the coaching staff look likely to go. Would be foolish of him to stick around hoping they'll soften to him again and even if he made the next WC squad, the northern hemisphere is so far behind the south ATM it won't be a successful tournament.

I was sat with Gary in the Taveners Suit at the Yorkshire game yesterday. My boss asked him when Burgess will be signing, "in a week or 2", was his answer. He is either bored of being asked and gave a tongue in cheek reply, or he was being very open with us. Sadly, a bit too open for it to be true i suspect........... Id love him to take the No. 10 if only for 2016 whilst Souths shuffle their cap.

And he's smart enough to know that well fed rumours can sell season tickets. But it would be great if true, even if only for a season.

Despite an injury to Jonathan Joseph (out for three months) another of Bath's England centres, Burgess wasn't even on the bench for Bath's defeat at Wasps on Saturday. He wasn't even at Bath's game, he was with McNamara at Leigh watching little brother Tom.
That suggests very strongly to me that his interest in Bath is zero &, therefore, his days in RU are numbered.
I hope I'm right & that he comes to the Rhinos. Even if it's only for a year.
Just imagine the impact that would have on season ticket sales.

Other England players George Ford and Anthony Watson both started at the weekend as they did the week before when Burgess was on the bench. Bit weird to bring him back for a game AND then give him time off. Bath's official word was that he was "rested", why not just say he's been given a post World Cup break.

"Rested" from what? This is a guy who regularly played 80 minutes as a prop in the toughest league in the world. I hardly think he needs or would want a rest.

I think the reason for the delay in signing SB is that Gawwy is demanding money from the other SL chairmen, arguing that he wants a %age of the extra gate money they will undoubtedly get at their Rhinos home game!!
