| Quote nantwichexile="nantwichexile"From my perspective of supporting the team since 1978.....I'd say yes. Definitely....
As JP himself said after the game he has been 'blessed' to play in such a great team: similarly we have been 'blessed' to be part of this perhaps never to be repeated era in my lifetime at least. As Printer states we can't expect this to continue forever.....(surely not?). The continued praiseworthy recruitement however continues to gives us every chance.
Replacing Sinfield and Peacock is going to be nigh on impossible though. As McDermott said, they are hardly being carried into their twilight performances. They are both playing at least as well as they have ever done. Incredible.
They built that Wembley statue too early !!!!'"
Agree on that, but who would you have the statue of if you couldn't have both? Sinny or JP. ooooooohhh Theres a question!!

Wasn't aware I'd made any suggestion of the sort, but hey. If that's what you want to read into it, go ahead...

| For mine, what has moved the current side into contention as being the best Leeds side I have watched, is balance. We are not a team noted for just great backs or a dominant pack but rather have quality across the park from 1-17, with plenty of emerging talent pushing through. I am not saying every player is a star or the best in his position, rather that we have strength and quality in the Forwards, backs and Halves. This has been building for years and this year with the addition of Cuthbertson and latterly Garbutt seems to have peaked. With the loss of Sinny and Peacock, this team, this year will be a hard act to follow. Hopefully we can and will.

Well you may not see the connection but I sure do. With the addition of Cuthbertson and more recently Garbutt, McDermott has finally got the mix of skills needed to play the sort of game he wanted to play when he first arrived as head coach.

| I feel what Leeds have at the minute is that we have so many 'danger men' that other teams can't handle us. I think Hull KR shut down Hardaker, Cuthbertson and Ryan Hall quite well; just couldn't shut down all our players.

Both are actually more known for their exploits at Old Trafford more than Wembley......a Leeds Rhinos statue outside Man United's stadium......think they'd go for it? Lol

| Quote Andy Gilder="Andy Gilder"Hard to compare eras, but it's less than 12 months since this side (plus a couple of additions) couldn't buy a win for six weeks and crashed out of the playoffs at home to possibly the worst away side in the competition.
Bit OTT to be describing it as the "best Leeds side ever".'"
I don't think anyone has suggested last years side might be our best ever
This years side and last years may have only a couple of differences in personnel but the likes of Hardaker, Ward and Watkins have continued to improve, Aiton has been a different player to last years (illness hit) version and Cuthbertson has completely changed the way the team play.
I agree its hard to compare era's maybe I should have made the question narrower. Could this be the best side of our golden generation?

| Quote ThePrinter="ThePrinter"One key bit of advice i'd give is ......savor this time.
Hasn't always been this special and surely won't always continue. When I've read the stories of HKR fans just happy to see their team at Wembley, we Leeds fans should remember how lucky we've been for the last 10 years.'"
This.
Ever since the 3-in-a-row of 07,08 & 09 I've thought this way. Before then I was very much on a high when we won and down in the dumps when we lost. But when I knew we'd won in 09 I thought I should savour these moments and this team and this period in the club's history, because I can remember what it was like before then. So I'm very much more chilled out on a Friday night at Headingley now, and I reckon I enjoy it more as a day/night out rather than just the rugby itself.
Finals I still get worked up for, can't completely suppress the emotions.

| A treble would make this team the best team. Is hard to compare eras but to win all competitions would be one hell of an achievement. With how we have played so far this season it almost feels like I will be disappointed if we don't, for the players. 6 games to go, and I hope we can send the boys out on another win
