Quote Gotcha="Gotcha"Interesting, as seen comments that his half back partner was better, yet he was absolute gash yesterday.'"
Two very different players.
Ridyard is the Sinfield to Brierley's Danny McGuire. So while Brierley is off producing the handful of flashy moments that end up on the highlight reels, Ridyard is usually the one quietly taking the team around the park.
Given how badly dominated Leigh were up front - and their forward pack was frankly awful, seemingly more interested in starting fights than playing rugby - it made life much harder for Ridyard to do that as they were constantly coming off slow play the balls.
I'd still say he's the better all round player of the two, but the things Brierley can do that Ridyard can't make him the better acquisition for a SL side.
Still wouldn't rule them out of getting promoted. They're going to get 80 minutes, probably at Wakefield away in the play-off, and anything can happen. A refereeing decision or two go their way - and I didn't think many of those did yesterday - a bounce of the ball, injuries to key opposition players and I could still see them repeating their Challenge Cup victory from earlier in the year.
