It never used to fill Old Trafford, quite the opposite. It was a total anti-climax. I don't agree with first past the post. It's possible to lose all your games against your nearest rivals, but hammering the whipping boys you could be classed as champions.
If Leeds started the season like a house on fire, were 8 points clear by May but suffered season ending injuries to McGuire, Aiton and Cuthbertson, I'd be feeling pretty short changed if we didn't top the league and be crowned champions. To become the Champions you have to overcome adversity, be strong, skill full, have bucketloads of character. That's how it should be, if you don't win the GF, beating the best of the best, you don't deserve the title
