Have to disagree about Hemmings. He doesn't just big it up, he totally overhypes everything and is predictably repetitive. I find this, alongside his complete lack of comprehension of the game pretty tedious.

Would prefer Wells to comment alongside whoever gets the main job. He is, IMO, by far the quickest and most insightful analyst on the Sky team.

Carney/Wells have to get the main gig surely, informative, know the game, don't sensationalise and just call it.

Vossy and Noble would be my preffered option calling the game, with Carney and Wells doing the studio stuff.

Wells should get Stevo's job. But it's going to be Clarke and it's going to be even worst.

Please let this be f***ing true. It will without doubt be the best thing to happen to Rugby League since I have been watching the game at least. The commentary has gone beyond cringe-worthy. It went past that years ago, now its just special, like we are doing our part for the community.

Wells might be up to the commentators gig - although there's a world of difference between live commentary and analysis. Should a vacancy arise for an analyst, I'd suggest Ellery Hanley. I recently watched him interviewing Frank Bruno as part of the Sporting Heroes series and can only say that he approaches broadcasting in the same way as he did playing - i.e. professionally. He'd be very good.

If this is true (fingers crossed) Don't suppose there's any chance of Sky offering the gig to the guys who did the world cup? I remember them as refreshingly knowledgeable and professional at what they were doing. Not the current model used by Sky, but hey it could catch on.

Its utterly bewildering how that have lasted this long. Just look at the comments on this thread and others you see every season. You go on twitter and you see current professional players taking the mickey out of them every single match. Just this week JP said Jim Watt (the boxing commentator who is also way over the hill) is boxings equivalent to Stevo. If there was a poll on the VT it would be 99% to get rid of them both. I sound bitter and harsh as they are good people but they are holding the game back, I'm certain sky viewing figures would be higher without these two..,which will have a direct impact on the sport as a whole.

Wells calls it better than anyone on current format, so if you're promoting from within, he'd fill Stevos spot much more effectively.

Wells should carry on doing what he's as he's very good at it. Noble isn't a bad shout to replace Stevo, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Carney should replace Clarke, and Hemmings should be replaced by someone from outside like Mark Chapman.
