| Has anyone managed to wash that giant yellow streak out of the back of McGuire's kit yet?
Don't think I've ever seen such a senior player give such a half-hearted, cowardly performance. No interest in tackling, no interest in taking the line on in case he got tackled. It's almost like he didn't want to get hurt so he could top up his try tally against Championship whipping boys next week.
Shown up entirely by Sutcliffe IMO, and that swap needs to be made sooner rather than later.

| It's about time people stopped blaming terrible displays on "tiredness". Tired is something a tennis player is when he's played 5 sets over 4 hours one day, 3 hours of doubles the following day and then another 5 sets the day after. Tired is when an athlete runs 10,000 metres and then 5000 metres over a couple of days at the Olympics. Tired is when a 55 year old builder is struggling through knee deep mud for 60 hours a week with arthritic knees. If I hear "duty of care" or "tired" one more time my heads gonna explode. There's thousands of lads out there who'd love to get "tired" doing a couple of 15 minute stints once a week. We were slow, ponderous, poorly coached and beaten by better physical specimens who were stronger and faster when it counted.

| First proper beating, and it's just about June. First time a team has scored more than 3 tries against us and first time we have lost by more than a score. FWIW I thought Warrington would turn us over, they have been really playing well recently and have hit some serious form. For me they have looked the best side in the comp over the last few weeks.
I think we need to remember these are the same two sides who met a couple of months ago and Leeds thumped Warrington - never letting them play. RL is mental as well as physical and from experience (which we should all be able to look back at) keeping a team absolutely on it for every game is not going to happen. Physically I'm sure the players are fine, but we have had a long run of big games and on the night Warrington were in a better place mentally. In years past we might have conceded 50, but this year we seem to be not doing that.
We will look so much better with Burrow and Aiton back.

A grand final win described as "papering over the cracks" ffs
Is having the best defence in the league also "papering over the cracks"?
2 weeks ago everyone had Leeds down for the double. One defeat and the team's "past it" ....again.

| There's being "not quite on it" and being a million miles away.
The last three big away games (Saints, Wigan at the Etihad and last night) Leeds have been a million miles away from being on it. Had they been at something close to full strength, Saints and Wigan would have won as comprehensively as Warrington did.
Another performance of that standard against Huddersfield, and changes are going to have to be made. Failing to do so (or just scapegoating the usual fringe players) sends entirely the wrong message that some players are undroppable.
Then again, given some players dictate whether they get subbed - irrespective of being out on their feet - that would hardly come as a surprise.

Those cracks at Warrington are really, really wide. You've left it too many years between papering them over.

A tremendous back line sees to the whipping boy rabble then against the big boys leeds are vulnerable. Leeds may well finish in the top 2 this year, with the best points difference recording some convincing wins. But when the trophies are on the line they will fall short. IMHO.

Even in the games that leeds have won such as wigan at home you can still see the vulnerability in the pack, but they have managed to find a way. But if they play well and win well against a rival you can hardly question it.

I agree, I'm fed up with people's obsessive use of the word "fatigue" (mostly used just as a reason to say a young lad should've played instead) the moment the team/or individual doesn't play well. Like you said they play once a week just like all the others and times this year Wire have been dire yet looked fine last night having played the same amount of games as us. And we have rotated this year to add to that.
Simply we've hit a bit of a mental lull, it was coming but they're pretty tough to avoid (putting one or two academy lads in a few games WOULDN'T stop this btw). Every team has them, Saints themselves had one after a great start to the year.
