RIP, thought are with his family and friends. I first started watching the Rhinos in 1997/8, so just at the start of his era. That pack was brutal yet the team could play with flair, some of the late tries in the final were very good.

The mark of a good coach is whether he leaves a club in a better state than he found it. If you apply that criteria (and ignore Hunter Mariners, an unfortunate victim of the SL wars) then Graham Murray was a bloody good coach.

Arguably responsible for turning Leeds around and getting the club pointing in the right direction for the likes of Hetherington and Caddick to take forward.

I don't think you should ignore Hunter. He took a team nobody gave a about, a team literally thrown together and took them to the WCC final. Another amazing achievement in a career which at the top level involved only one trophy but, as you say, he took every single one of his clubs forward.
