Quote: number 6 "I read about the leeds arena plans over 10 years ago when I use to go watch ice hockey in hull, there was an article in the ice hockey magazine at the time that leeds had bought a franchise to play in the arena, lee sharpe wearing leeds lightning top,
having seen pictures its a little disappointing there isn't any plans for other sports like ice hockey and basketball to be played their, although just as a music venue it is quite smart'"
When the LCC starting looking at arenas there were many thoughts about what to build. The original concept was to be the standard bowl configuration which would have supported ice hockey. The new arena though was built for acoustics and performance in mind. However i do believe it could be used for basketball quiet easily with floor seating.
As for the ice hockey idea, there are plans in place to build an ice skating rink on the car parks of Elland road. Its been mooted to be between 1000 and 3000 seats with the ability to expand should it be required. I think that would be more than big enough should we create a franchise
