Quote rugbyleague88="rugbyleague88"Poor by McDermott and I believe McShane will look to move this winter now. McShane is the best hooker at the club but continues to get dropped when players return from injury. I like McShane he is a very clever player, with a full range of skills and gets the players going forwards, just a shame the coach has never showed any confidence in him.'"
He is the best recognised hooker at the club, i won't dispute that. But I don't think you can say the coach hasn't shown confidence in him - he's played most games this season. His form has hardly warranted it either. How you can say it's 'poor by McDermott' is baffling.
I don't think he's good enough to be our number 9 and so if he does move on, I'd hope to see us sign someone for next season.
Quote rugbyleague88="Sal Paradise"Sadly he is not the only one JJB and Kirke have both been very average to abysmal at times but neither have been treated like McShane? He was awful on Friday so McDermott has a point - things have to be seen to be equitable or else people will lose respect for the manager's judgement.'"
I appreciate that - but I think it also comes down to how the players behave in the week and their attitude. I'm purely playing devil's advocate here, but if McShane is clashing with McDermott in the week, whilst Kirke and JJB are working hard, then that is obviously going to affect the choice to drop him.
