Sinfield is a class act all round.
He has PROVEN his quality consistently for a decade and off the field conducts himself superbly.
Little things like this article support that
www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/s ... _Sinfield/
he is the 1st to arrive and is the last to leave staying behind to practice his goal kicking after everyone else has left. Choosing to do this rather than going home to his wife and kids an hour earlier each night
Its easy to discredit people while they are still around and playing because everyone makes mistakes, but when the whole story is written, he will be regarded as one of the best players/captains RL has ever seen
For the career he has had, not to win the golden boot would have been a travesty.

| Most people seem happy that this award has gone to a Brit - the only exceptions being the Pies and an Australian idiot from Wales.
As I've said before, I'm surprised that Sinny bagged this award but well done to the bloke, the term "consummate professional" couldn't be more fitting.
I don't know how long Kev will play for Leeds but it'll be a sad day indeed when he does hang his boots up.

On the face of it he may be a good candidate. He's plenty of experience of big games, and in our very talented squad is possibly one of the people who has had to work hardest to get where he is

I doubt some on here would agree with that statement.
To my knowledge he has never been involved in coaching at the lower/junior levels unlike Burrow, JJB & now Ablett.

I've never seen anything about him doing juniors either. My point was more about him not necessarily being a bad coach just because he's not a top calibre player

| I agree, the best players often don't make the best coaches.

| The man deserves some historical recognition and I am pleased for him.
He does not excel in any particular skill (apart from goal kicking of course) and he fully concedes this is the case. However, if you define world's greatest player as somebody who epitomises inspiration and leadership qualities - at least at club level - there can be no argument.
He is the greatest possible ambassador for the game (and sport more generally).

Leadership is a skill. Harder to measure than strength or pace or elusiveness, but a skill nonetheless.

| Where has this myth that Sinfield "isn't the most skillful player" come from? He lacks pace but as far as skill goes he's one of the most best ball handlers (He's no Leon Pryce though) in the game, and over the years he has proven he has all the skills in the book.
