Quote: Fat Boy "I was discussing a point at the game with a friend regarding the dilemma that faces Wakefield for this friendly.
Do they put out a reasonably strong team, fully knowing that Leeds will field a team of mainly reserves and hope that they don’t get beaten as this would be quite embarrassing or do they put out their reserves expecting to get beaten but have a valid excuse for losing?
This year they decided to go with a reasonably strong team but still got the arrises handed to them by our juniors.
EMBARRASSING!'"
It was relatively close up until the last 20 minutes, its s by the way and you're talking out of yours...
It would have been a better match had the referee not got carried away red carding Poore. Poore & Bailey should have gone to the sin bin for 10 with them on the field it spiced things up. I agree with Poore's swinging arm attempt at a tackle was over the top (& red card worthy if he'd connected with Singleton's head) and the referee still had that in the back of his mind for the sending off when Bailey initiated a confrontation & grabbed Poore (look at the replay if there is one).
Admittedly though some of the Wakefield experienced players didn't really turn up today and the game faded away in the second half for entertainment value from both teams. Leeds deserved the win and were the better team on the day though despite the crap referee.
