I honestly think people don't realise what they are saying and most don't think it's an issue.

Leeds fans are referred to as "yiddies"
Man U fans are referred to as "scum" and "munichs" by some Leeds u fans

A reference for both teams - both offensive

The younger generation just copy the olds. Every time a player for the opposition has played for Leeds it's "yid yid yid" that's chanted. And always has been for years.

For me it's wrong and has been wrong always but most people don't think it's offensive.

An education piece needs to be done by the club IMO

Spurs supporters took to call themselves the YID army as away of taking the mickey out of the racists, who use to sing songs about jews being gassed in the second world war.

The interesting thing is how many chants at players against Leeds can not be classified as racist. how many times did the South Stander call Long a traveller and questioned his sexuality. The comments from all clubs supporters at G Thomas who is a very brave person. How many time was K Senior called a Bald Bastard. Similar comments to Barry Mcdermott about being blind in one eye. The question is how much of this chanting is a bit of banter and how much is racism. I dont know.

Yeah, and I remember the pogroms where loads of people with one eye were rounded up and buildings torched. And you know that bald people weren't even given the vote until that campaigner chucked himself under the King's horse?

It's disgusting how history overlooks such things.
