Quote ThePrinter="ThePrinter"I know it won't go down well with some of the older posters on here who prefer these shirts ahead of modern efforts (mostly because they could hide their flab much better) but those kits are hateful.'"
Speaking as an older poster, (whose middle-aged flab has started to recede along with the hairline, so no longer the need for the baggy types) I too disliked most of the designs in the photo and what were made of "new fangled" sweaty nylon type material. I much prefered the orginial club designs and the heavy cotton shirts (see avatar)....you know the ones with the collars you turn up against the weather or perhaps on occassions collars turned up to try and look cool for the watching females.
This was a time when each club had a strong brand from easily recognisable designs with rarely a need to change strip for "away" games so the leading clubs had the ability to put fear into opposition fans as they took to the field.
And you could get a pint, a packet of crisps, a pork pie for less than half a crown.....or was it a shilling......or 2 bob I think.........or........now what was I talking about......... Ah yes old photos... now in my day all the games were in black and white.....no I am not allowed to say that am I. Oh well good night nurse!
