| McIlorum probably got a three match ban because of his recent disciplinary record when he got sent off the previous time against St Helens for taking out one of their players with a nice uppercut.
I hope im not biased but its not in Danny Mcguire's game to take people out and although it wasn't the greatest tackle it probably wasn't on purpose.
Hoping the RFL see sense.

| Quote: Peter Kingsley "guess no one on here remembers lee smith kicking out in the final eliminator against wigan in 08?'"
IIRC Smith scored a couple of tries for Leeds that night after raking Phil Bailey who was slow to move away after making the tackle. Smith aside it was the night of the Calderwood master defensive class in what was (again IIRC) his final appearance in a Wigan shirt before joinng Hull FC.

| Five try-saving tackles. Incredible defensive show. Jones-Buchanan twice, Senior and Lauitiiti in successive tackles and Burrow - who I think may have been airborn diving over under the sticks when Calderwood caught him in the gully. That was my favourite but the one where Jones-Buchanan thought 'I'm having one here' and Calderwood decided, eh no you aren't mate .... crash ..... have a seat in the paddock was quality. (There was almost a 6th but Senior just held on and got the nod from the video ref.)
All these thoughts only occurring after the match obviously as Leeds still went through 18 - 14 but still the best defensive game I think I've ever witnessed by a winger.

| Calderwood had a knack for that, even at Leeds. I seem to recall him chasing down Raynor at Hull and as Raynor was under the sticks Calders dislodged the ball.
Was at his peak in that 2005 season at Leeds. What could've been had the grass not been greener at a lesser club like Wigan.
