The post obscured the tackle from where we were sat but it didnt look good at all LOD and the giants fans showed their class as he walked from the pitch did hear Anderson say it was a clash of heads on the radio on the way home to me it sounded like Shaun Wane defending Micky Macs red card on friday It was a huge loss for us losing the in form Kirke so early in the game and think the delay it caused and seeing there mate in such a position didnt do our lads any good at all Hope Kirkeys ok for next week coz we definately need him

O'Donnell's head is no harder than anyone else's. In a head clash it all depends on where you get hit, how hard and at what angle. As for Kirke, I hope he doesn't play this weekend. Regardless of his apparent recovery there is a lot of evidence that the brain can take several weeks to fully recover from being bruised, and another knock to the head too soon can multiply the damage. Any talk of 'toughness' when it comes to head injuries is macho bullsh*t.

I'm not sure that your first point is necessarily true. In the boxing world there are fighters that are much better at taking shots than others. That said, there's insufficient evidence that the same applies to O'Donnell.

Re Kirke, I'd agree that he shouldn't play for a while, perhaps not for the rest of the season. And the macho bullsh*t sentiment I very much agree with.

Yep I'd agree with that too, I think we're often too quick to send players back out on to the pitch again after head injuries. I cringe sometimes when I see a player who has obviously taken a blow to the head and can barely stand, then carry on playing. It's only a game in the end.
