| Twice I caught my breath as at a glance when he was on the other side of the pitch I thought for a second it was Bedsy! Similar physique and running style - great debut! If McShane couldn't learn enough from Bedsy I don't think he has the capacity to improve further.

| It was interesting watching Shaun play for you last night, he played well and is the style of hooker that suits Leeds playmakers. It shouldn't be a surprise he played well, he has played hooker for England. He is a much better player at this point in his career than McShane or Hood (though I do think Hood is a terrific prospect) and an interchange of Lunt and Burrow could be very good.
So why have Giants let him go? In my opinion it is more about cap management than preferring Scott Moore. Luke Robinson is Giants run on Hooker, with Faiumu and Lunt that was 3 international hookers, plus Tommy Lee. Lee was playing interchange as he can also cover the halves and Kevin Brown's role as a half at loose forward (very much Sinfield's old role at Leeds). Tommy Lee is now injured and out for a while, Scott Moore can cover that role and by all accounts has come cheap due to his past indiscretions. That allows Giants to tie up Fairbank & Eden longer term.
Without a salary cap Giants would not let Lunt go (not complaining as without a cap we could not match the spending of Leeds, Wigan etc.). I am sad to see him go, but there is a long term logic, the recent growth of the Giants is founded on sound long term decisions.
Shaun Lunt needs to play and he needs to play in a top team. Leeds need a finished article, rather than promising, run on hooker, so the deal suits all parties in different ways, good business for all.

| The genius of the Leeds CEO knows no bounds. Not only has he immeasurably strenthened a weak position for the club but he's also - allegedly - getting Huddersfield to foot the bill.

| SL left because he wanted to play in Aus and thus fell out of favour with the coaching staff. Changes in his personal life have meant he would now like to stay in England, don't be surprised to see Lunt sign on a permanent deal.

| Quote Teddy Picker="Teddy Picker"...Just what we need at hooker, good distribution, worked hard in defense, and got himself a try. Top effort playing the full 80.'"
Agreed, good debut and doesn't need to move out to the centres in defence.
Quote Teddy Picker="Teddy Picker"Would love to see him start with Burrow as the impact player off the bench when he's back fit.'"
Now we have a spcialist hooker, I'd much prefer to see Burrow [ustart at 7[/u with McGuire at 6.
Burrow can still bother a tiring defence even when he's been on since the kick-off, there's no need to save him until the second half.

That would mean moving Sinfield back to loose which I can't see happening. Doubt he would be able to oust our current incumbent

Think some of our forwards will need rotating a bit soon. McDermott said both Hauraki and JJB were longer term injuries though.
