| Quote Keith Swiftcorn="Keith Swiftcorn"Nope, I didn't see any of that. I'm still waiting for those Peacock stats to back up your game-breaking assertions to enlightem me instead. How much longer do I have to wait?
Here's why James Graham was highly sought after by NRL clubs and why Jamie Peacock wasn't.
[u4N Final V Australia 2011[/u
Graham 35 tackles, 1 ineffective, 1 missed, 19 runs, 134 metres gained, 1 offload
Peacock 27 tackles, 3 ineffective, 2 missed, 8 runs, 64 metres gained, zero offloads
[uV Australia 2008[/u
Graham 33 tackles, 0 ineffective, 1 missed, 16 runs, 118 metres gained, 2 offloads
Peacock 34 tackles, 0 ineffective, 6 missed, 11 runs, 93 metres gained, zero offloads
No need because in the interests of accuracy, Peacock does invariably pirouette on one leg with his back turned at the point of impact, and in the absence of a Super League-esque offload under low-intensity SL match conditions (conspicuous by their absence at high-intensity international level against Australia of course) he then proceeds to continue through the full 360 degrees in order to position himself for his trademark and illegal quick PTB where the foot deliberately makes no contact with the ball.
I can point you in the direction of NRL teams who have turned up more than a week in advance of the WCC and where some even play a warm up game in the UK in the week prior to the WCC if you like? And guess what? They win. No surprises there, even if it's still a pre-season warm-up game for them.'"
If you love Australia so much why dont you f off and live there? Im sure due to your latest stats, that James Graham is looking for a flat mate to rub suncream on him and im quite sure he would love some one like you to do it for him. You make me laugh if you hate English RL and inparticular Leeds so much WTF are you doing wasting your time on here when you could be cracking one off to the NRL??

Truth hurts - answer the man's points?
Changing the tack smacks of defeat - how did they used to call on here "owned"
Anyone who watches the NRL on a regular basis can see the gulf in quality - to suggest references to it should ignored - because it makes your argument look bad - is laughable.
Get your head out of the sand - Peacock has been a top SL player, but to suggest he could cut it with the likes of Matt Scott -especially now - on a weekly basis is delusional.

If Peacock went to the NRL I am sure he would give a good account of himself, the stats that Swiftcorn as posted are only one side of the game, stats don't account for guts and determination which Peacock as in bucket loads but Graham as in a teacup.
There have been many so called battle hardened NRL players over the years who have come into Superleague and failed to hack it. The likes of Greg Eastwood, Ben Cross and Josh Perry to name but a few.

Considering the absolute dross which has cut it with the likes of Matt Scott in the NRL, and even won Grand Finals and made SoO I have no doubt Peacock could. When the likes of Ryan Tandy can come over here and struggle in such a low intensity environment yet then go back and get a contract with not one, not two but 3 NRL sides, and play in a Grand Final then only someone blinded by an almost masochistic inferiority complex could believe Peacock would struggle.
Its a wonder Australian internationals like Josh Perry, Joel Clinton and Antonio Kaufusi or an SoO prop like Ben Cross barely look like above average players in this lower intensity competition, and look vastly inferior to Peacock even at this stage of his career considering their Australian ubermenschen credentials.

I think that's missing the point, anyone is entitled to dislike or find the product inferior. The point being made is, if that is how he feels why continue to waste
time paying even a passing interest and forcing the same points time and time again. And if it really is for the purpose of getting a reaction/'owning' then that pretty much answers everything you need to know about someone.

But then the players you mentioned such as Tandy were only over here for a payday/holiday, and in all fairness were probably laughing so hard at the pi$$ poor SL that they could hardly focus on playing rugby.....just playing devils advocate

They can't answer the points I've raised because they've no credible argument to counter them, hence the ted ad hominem nature of their responses.
If any other club in SL had signed or re-signed a player almost until his 37th birthday it would have been questioned and ridiculed by these very same people who are hailing JP's 2 year contract extension as fantastic news.
It is perfectly legitimate to question this contract extension (particularly the length of it), given that he's no spring chicken and in decline as a player. To suggest that it's a fantastic signing on the basis that NRL clubs were sniffing around hoping to sign him may be considered delusional at best and utterly demented at worst.

I repeat - it's a good technique at Super League level against very ordinary opposition. I've never seen this technique utilised successfully against Australia at international level, nor did I see any evidence of it in the pre-season exhibition game against Manly. Feel free to provide evidence and examples of this technique of his which shows him ripping it up against the Australians making huge meters and offloads aplently. I'm still waiting.

Five to ten years ago maybe, but definitely not now he's approaching his geriatric era.

This has to be the most ted comment posted for quite some time, even outdoing unsubstantiated suggestions that NRL clubs were lining up to sign JP at the age of 35. James Graham has not only been this country's best prop forward for the past five years, he's been our best player by some distance for the same length of time both in Super League and - more crucially - at international level. To suggest that Graham lacks the guts and determination which JP has in bucket loads is the type of contribution expected from someone who is clueless and has lost the plot completely. It wasn't James Graham who had to take a breather and fall off a tackle in the 4N Final allowing Paul Gallen to waltz past him before offloading to Thurston for a try under the sticks. I'd like to think JP will now do the sensible thing and retire from the international stage with good grace rather than dragging a zimmer frame along for the 2013 World Cup.
Quote Fieldheadrhino="Fieldheadrhino"There have been many so called battle hardened NRL players over the years who have come into Superleague and failed to hack it. The likes of Greg Eastwood'"
He was still Leeds most effective forward in numerous games despite pining for a return down under. However, now he's no longer at Leeds and returned home early, he was obviously rubbish and was rubbish all along.
Quote Fieldheadrhino="Fieldheadrhino"Ben Cross'"
Hailed on here as a good signing by some when first recruited - a solid, no nonsense prop who will make the hard yards, etc. Those who questioned his signing at the time (like me for instance) were pilloried for having the audacity to question GH's latest sleeve acquisition - no surprises there
