While I can agree with you that Mr Alibert is probably the worst ref in the league, I don't think we can have any complaints re the way the game was reffed last night. Wigan played with a LOT more intensity than us, as a result won more of the 'rucks' and therefore earned more penalties. We were taking the ball up in 1's, leaving Wigan the chance to gang tackle us 3 and even 4 on one and slowing down the ptb. As a contrast they were going up harder and in 2's allowing them to take defenders away and win the ground battle.
Sure, Alibert made some strange decisions (Hall forward pass
) and his lack of knowledge of the basic rules of the game worries me, but I don't think he was much of a factor last night.
I will just say though that Wigan look a less scary prospect then they did last season, but then again without Buderus so do we!
