Indeed it was. The best bit was (weather aside and the fact the game should not have taken place that Sunday afternoon) it was a fantastic win and a little against the form book. Halifax were a decent side in the mid eighties.
When Leeds had a good win V Halifax I'd usually take a trip up just beyond Odsal top to the first newsagent that stocked the Evening Courier and this was their headline the following dayhttps://www.fotothing.com/photos/642/642c096323cd1ddd6e7531493b30dbd6.jpg?ts
Peter Fox also and quite rightly IMO, spoke out in the YEP over the decision to play in those conditionshttps://www.fotothing.com/photos/0fe/0fe8586a3b891c371530348fd38b470a.jpg?ts
The match formed an integral part of the epic 7 game Challenge Cup run of 85/86 that ended with a semi-final replay defeat at Elland Road V last night's opponents. There should be a book written about that campaign and the author should be Jeff Grayshon.
