Excuse me Mc-Field can you answer a question for me?...... What category do Egg Custards fall in to? It says tart on the box is this correct? Are tarts a sub-division of cakes or pastries?? Please help its causing me sleepless nights.

Tarts are flat hard pastries with burnt jam around the edges and molten jam in the middle that remains capable of removing the taste buds from your tongue longer than molten lava will do on some brand new Icelandic island.

Egg custards are not officially available to mere humans for egg custards are the nectar of gods, egg custards have a category all of their own called "Egg Custards", you should not be eating egg custard, where did you buy it from and did the reseller leave any clues as to where he obtained them, they are surely stolen from Dionysus' pantry.

I have to confess i bought them at the local Tesco they were on special offer, im sorry if im not worthy for the food of gods, i will repent my sins asap!

Are you sure that you didn't eat it and you've forgotten ?
Did you bring a coat with you, have you checked the pockets ?
Did you put it down anywhere near the dog ?

I'm going to sew elastic into your coat sleeves and fasten your next cake to that, it'll make it a bit harder to eat as you'll have to raise both arms together to get it to your mouth but you won't lose the bloody thing.

Now you're getting into Créme Caramel / Flan territory or even Créme Búlee ....Mmm..... Shouldn't the custard tart really be called custard pie?

I remember my mum used to make a deep egg custard which visitors admired but I thought too eggy as a kid. It was only when I tasted "Hirsts" (of Far Headingley) egg tart/pie that I was converted to what my brothers and I have since called "bought custard" with its confectioners creamy custard and sweet pastry.
