All sadly true I'm afraid, but that just sums up todays society for me. The honest ones work hard to earn enough to buy their treasured possesions, only for unemployed, drug dealing scumbags to think it's ok to take it all. Like others, I have no sympathy for any burglar who gets caught in the act by the house holder and gets a good slap or worse. Lock the buggers up and throw the key away for me!

one of the pleasures of being here even tho it does occur here its very unlikely to be of that scale; the most i have had nicked was 500 dirhams just under 100notes stolen from the maid and i felt crap about that but o'well hope its all insured.

Sympathies to you. I too have been a victim of scum when away on holiday some years ago. Thankfully my mother-in-law saved us the worse of it by cleaning everything up before our return: we were also spared the information when away so we could continue to enjoy our holiday in blissful ignorance.

The worse thing for me was the theft of our eight year old's piggy bank and the trashing of [ihis[/i bedroom.

That for me means they should expect no leniency if caught. There is no excuse for such malice IMO.

as they didnt nick the car I'd suggest they are druggies or even kids lookng to make some quick cash. i would suggest looking around the local cash convertors etc to see if your gear has turned up

Feel for you mate it's crap when somebody robs you. I have had my car stolen in the past and somebody spent £1400 on my credit card. I work with a bloke who was bragging that he puts in fictitious home insurance claims and sells copy dvd's. Society has gone rotten from top to bottom these days.

just before last christmas I went into town with some former work colleagues, it was like a fairwell do for me,and it was that cold snowy friday evening.We went into that Varsity bar I had just used my blackberry beforehand and just shoved it in my bit top coat .When after I got warmed up after being in this very full bar I took the coat off felt in the pockets and my phone had gone.The scum bags must just stand in crowded places like that and wait for innocent honest mugs to walk in.

They will sit in cars/vans watching for folk to leave the house. They'll just pick random places and wait. I once left home and clocked a couple of shifty looking sods in a van over the road. Anyways I missed my bus and for some reason came home the back way so they wouldnt have seen me (I didnt do this on purpose). I was sat in the house and thats when I saw one looking over my fence (its about 6 foot tall). As he opened the front gate (again 6 foot tall) I was charging down the garden path towards him and he looked sheepish. Suffice to say they were arrested as I had their reg plate and a copper was only round the corner when it was reported. Turned out they had previous.

Other incidents I've known is that there can be links to neighbours. a lad I know was robbed and the folk that did it were tipped off by his neighbour who he thought he was mates with. Anyways he was talking to said neighbour and was telling him how he kept ringing a stolen mobiles number as it was still swiched on. He happened to try it whist with said neighbour and he could here the phone vibrating in the room. Not only were they stupid enough to leave it switched on the neighbour had stolen items in his house. Proof that there really are some bloody thick folk in the world

My house gets targeted quite a bit because of where my dad works. The van has been broken into several times and they parted with some metal. Worse is when the house gets broken into because that means I get my laptop nicked which has everything that I’ve wrote stored on them.

I’m sure it’s someone off of the estate because they always seem to know when we’re all out.

My dads boss gets broken into a lot more though
